Summing up my current feelings on social media and the pressure to keep on giving more and more of yourself to these platforms whose only desire is to hollow us out and distort our perceptions.
This is one of the hardest pieces to photograph that I’ve ever created. The gold leaf has been directionally burnished to make it appear like the words have been carved into the surface. And as you move past the piece and the direction of light reflecting off of the gold shifts and the four skulls painted overtop become more prominent or knocked back.
