Gold School - 7th of July 2025
Date: Monday the 7th of July, from 10am - 6pm
Gold School is my new series of workshops dedicated to teaching gold leaf techniques.
In this day long workshop you’ll be part of a small group that will learn all about the wonders of oil gilding with 23.5 carat gold leaf and the magic directional burnishing with velvet.
I’ll guide you through the process of making your very own golden Momento Mori artwork to take home at the end of day, beautifully framed and ready to hang on your wall.
In the process you will have learnt all about how to use oil based gold size to go away and add a golden touch to any of your own projects.
No previous gilding or sign painting experience is necessary, this workshop is for anyone who can hold a brush (even if you haven’t held one since school!)
All of the materials and tools you’ll use on the day are included in the price.
Group size is limited to just four people to make sure everyone gets plenty of care and attention along the way.
I’ve using gold leaf in my artwork and professionally as a sign painter for over twelve years now, its time for me to pass on some of my skills!
The workshop is hosted in my North London studio, nearest station is Seven Sisters or Tottenham Hale and there is some limited parking available. Full directions will be sent through once you have booked.
Please note we will be using solvent based paints (and I’ll explain why I prefer them to the water based options) but my studio is well ventilated and gloves can be worn if you wish.
