Fail We May Sail We Must - 7th Edition - Gold

£450.00

‘Fail We May, Sail We Must’ - 7th edition - Gold

76cm x 56cm

Limited edition four colour screen print on 270gsm Southbank smooth paper

Hand finished with 23.5 carat gold leaf

Signed and numbered edition of 50

This reimagined Renaissance atlas is covered in symbolism and narrative. Amongst the allegorical representations of the four elements it references Greek myth, folklore, Tarot, Romantic poetry, Art History and contemporary protest movements.

All of that is anchored by a phrase that the late DJ Andrew Weatherall came to have tattooed on his wrists after he was told it by a young Irish fisherman. You can watch a ten minute deep dive into all of that narrative on Youtube here.

Since the release of the first edition in 2020 this print has become my most popular ever design. Each edition has had a distinct colour palette. For the seventh version I’ve gone for a dusky set of colours made up of soft pinks and greyish green blues.

These prints are made by hand with love in London by Mansons Press using traditional screen printing techniques.

Because they are made by hand you may be some slight variations in the print you receive compared to these photos. But overall the consistency of the quality is incredibly high.

Prints are posted rolled in a reinforced extra wide cardboard tube.

UK orders are posted via Royal Mail First Class Tracked and Signed

International orders are posted via Royal Mail International Tracked

Returns: If for any reason you are not happy with your print you have 14 days from receipt to return it to me in its original condition for a refund. Return postage is at your own expense. Please email hello@archieproudfoot.com before initiating a return to make sure you have the correct address
