Art On Film

My relationship with film began with me self shooting short videos that documented the process of me making my glass, steel and gold pieces.

Things expanded out when I started collaborating with cinematographer Max Brill. We’ve made a music video together as well as other experimental shorts.

I’ve also been featured a couple of times in the short documentaries of film maker William Scothern.

Below is a selection of all these film works that I’ve either made myself or been featured in over the years.

In The Studio

This is a film made by William Scothern as part of his series ‘In The Studio’ which explores the processes and inspirations of different artists in their studio spaces.

Midland Girls

My directorial debut, the music video for band Sugarcane of their single ‘Midland Girls’ made in collaboration with the cinematographer Max Brill

No Human Is Illegal

A slow meditative film I made showing the process behind the making of my first ever lino print edition ‘No Human Is Illegal’

Never Ever Return

Another film made in collaboration with Max Brill. We wanted to make a playful piece of ‘anti-content’, something distinct from artist profiles or process films. A self conscious performance of the ‘magic’ involved in making artwork.

Gold Editions

This is a film I made to show how one of my gold ‘Fail We May, Sail We Must’ editions is created. Manson’s Press does the printing, and then together we individually press gold into each print to finish them off.

Audi TT

A film I made to record the process behind the making of the Audi TT 20th anniversary commission

Made In London

Another film made in collaboration with William Scothern. This one a profile on my sign work, made in 2018 it was featured on Design Milk and was part of the British Council Film’s touring offer.

Journey of a W

This process film charts the journey of a single W from my WOWOWOWOW reverse-glass piece from 2018
